WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Millenia Hope, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MLHP) is an international bio-pharma company that fights disease through treatment, prevention and via environmental renewal and dissemination of crucial information to people around the globe. Millenia Hope is proud to announce the commencement of its "Hope Village" projects, a conceptualization of Millenia over the past several years now being brought to actualization. "Hope Villages," originally conceived by Millenia, perfectly suits the objectives of the UN's Millenium Development Goals, the recently held G-8 Summit and the World Summit on Sustainable Development. In order to implement an effective partnership, our program is designed to strengthen, enlarge and support local governance in the fight against malaria. We will also promote private-sector initiatives, maximize domestic responsibility and partner with international and local NGOs in order to reach afflicted populations. As stated on the U.N. Millenium Project's website, "The underlying principle for each Millennium Village is that community empowerment, participation and leadership are key to designing and implementing the solutions." Each pre-selected African Village will implement a Home Based Treatment (HBT) anti-malarial program, since 80% of all deaths occur at home. HBT specifically targets women and children, as they are the segment of the population at the greatest risk. The programs will include: education geared towards the village women, the primary home and health care givers, effective anti-malarial treatments for the entire village consisting of MMH Malarex(TM)/MMH 18(TM), a new anti-malarial agent with no parasite resistance, attention to the environmental factors inherent in the spread of malaria i.e. stagnant water etc. and the promotion of co-operation between private individuals and public sector institutions in this initiative. Millenia Hope Inc. and its private foundation, Millenia Hope Foundation (UK), are already in the midst of negotiating the implementation of Millenia's initial "Hope Villages" in Africa, in accordance with Millenia's visionary idea. Leonard Stella, Chairman and CEO of Millenia Hope and the CEO and Founder of the Millenia Hope Foundation (UK), proclaimed, "To see one of our pivotal goal projects embraced by the U.N. and on the road to fruition is extremely gratifying for Millenia Hope." Mr. Stella and Mr. Cyril Boynes, Jr., Director of International Affairs of The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), stated that, "We are in complete agreement with the process of self-actualization of the African people to determine their own destiny." Mr. Stella added, "This is the reason why Millenia Hope acquired its homologations in Africa first and only now is doing so in North America. Malaria is a problem that primarily ravages third world developing countries and part of the solution must be in their hands." Also, Millenia Hope, after due consideration and deliberation, is abandoning its product interest in and its rights to Tetrandrine and all its derivatives and compounds (Millenia product name -- Tranex 18). Millenia Hope had previously mentioned the Tetrandrine product in Press Releases of February 11 and February 28, 2005. The Company has taken the necessary steps to have the aforesaid acquisition retroactively nullified. This will also help the Company to focus its resources on its core products, MMH Malarex(TM)/ MMH 18(TM), and several broadened pending patents and patent extensions related to those products. About Malaria: There are 600 million malaria-infected individuals globally; 3 million die annually, of which 1 million are children under 5 years of age. In many regions, 70% or more of malaria strains are resistant to existing medications and the WHO is no longer funding products like chloroquine to which malaria is resistant. MMH Malarex(TM) cures malaria in those regions where resistant strains are prevalent. MMH Malarex(TM) has cured nearly 1,000 malaria suffers in its various trials over the last 5 years. We are saving lives right now! About Millenia Hope: Millenia Hope is an international biopharma company developing innovative treatments and quality products that will increase the quality of life, provide tools in the fight against diseases and promote healthier lives.
